Frequently Asked Questions

Is Power’s women’s personal training suitable for women over 40?

Yes. Most of our female members are in their 40s, 50s and 60s, training to build strength, manage perimenopause and menopause symptoms, protect their bones and feel more confident. Programmes are written specifically for the female body, not shoehorned from male templates.

Can strength training help with menopause and perimenopause symptoms?

Yes. Strength training is one of the most effective tools for managing menopause symptoms. It supports bone density, helps with sleep and mood, protects against muscle loss, and lowers heart and bone disease risk in postmenopausal women by around 30%. Our coaches understand how to adapt training through every stage.

Are sessions women-only or mixed?

Our SGPT sessions are mixed, but the atmosphere is genuinely welcoming and judgement-free. Many of our female members joined specifically because they felt out of place at commercial gyms. If you’d prefer to start in quieter, female-dominated slots, we can recommend the best times.

I’ve never lifted weights. Is women’s personal training in Guiseley right for me?

Absolutely. Plenty of our female members had never picked up a dumbbell before joining. Coaches teach every movement, start light, and progress you safely. You’ll learn proper technique from the first session.

Will lifting weights make me bulky?

No. Building visible muscle takes years of dedicated training and very specific eating. What strength training will do is make you leaner, stronger, more energised and better protected against the muscle and bone loss that comes with age.

How is Power’s approach to women’s fitness different from a typical gym in Leeds?

Most gyms run female members through generic programmes or stick them in cardio-heavy classes. Power gives you a plan written for your body, coached by people who understand it, in a space without mirrors, machines or gymtimidation.
