How Personal Training Works at Power

At Power Personal Training Gym, our personal training is built around the individual, with tailored coaching, clear structure, and ongoing support to help you progress with confidence. Based in Guiseley on Bradley Road, LS20 8NH, the gym is conveniently located just a short walk from Guiseley Railway Station.

If you’re just starting out on your fitness journey, this can be frustrating, confusing and intimidating – and ultimately make you feel like you’re not welcome.

At the other end of the scale, 1-1 personal training can lack the uplifting social vibe of a group class and leave you feeling lost and isolated. The costs can also quickly spiral.

Everyone is different. And what works for someone else, might not work for you.

We get it. So, when you sign up to POWER, we start with a personal kick-start consultation. This gives us a chance to really get to know you, understand your goals and design a fitness programme that works for you and your lifestyle.

It also gives you a chance to ask questions and address any concerns.

Once you’re up and running, we also book in monthly 1-2-1 reviews to make sure you’re heading in the right direction.

While all our programmes are based on the same fundamental fitness basics, our men’s and women’s fitness sessions provide a more personalised approach to health and wellbeing.

So, you’ll get tailored training that reflects your body and builds on your strengths.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included in personal training at Power Guiseley?

Every membership starts with a 1-to-1 kickstart consultation, where we map your goals and build a plan around your body and lifestyle. From there, you train in coached sessions on Bradford Road, with a monthly 1-to-1 review to track progress and adjust the plan

Do I get a 1-to-1 personal trainer or do I train in a group?

Both. Our core service is Small Group Personal Training (up to four people, one coach, 45-minute session) with a personalised plan inside it. You also get 1-to-1 onboarding and monthly progress reviews, so you get the focus of a personal trainer without the price tag of full 1-to-1 sessions.

How is Power different from hiring a freelance personal trainer in Leeds?

A freelance PT charges by the hour and trains you in a commercial gym they don’t run. At Power, you get coached sessions, classes, programming, nutrition support and progress reviews under one monthly membership, in a gym built for the purpose. It works out cheaper and more consistent than booking sessions one at a time.

How often should I train to see results?

Most members train two to three times a week and start feeling stronger and more energised within four to six weeks. Consistency matters more than intensity, which is why our membership and timetable are built around showing up, not smashing yourself.

Is personal training at Power suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. Plenty of our members hadn’t set foot in a gym for years, or ever. Coaches teach you the basics, set the pace, and adjust around injuries or worries. There are no mirrors, no machines lined up, and nothing to figure out on your own.

What happens at my kickstart consultation?

You’ll sit down 1-to-1 with a coach, talk through your goals, any injuries or health issues, and how training fits into your week. We’ll show you round the gym, explain how sessions and the app work, and book your first few sessions before you leave.
